I'm not very good at auditions, despite the fact that I aced above the level of Latin Ballroom taught at the audition my nerves were so bad I looked like I had never danced before. I was embarrassed and other things. But I've moved on. To be honest, I am actually relieved that I don't have to worry about what classes I take. I probably won't finish a degree anytime soon unless it is the Dance Major...I can always audition again next year, and hopefully I will have mastered my nerves by then if I do. If not, I can work more with archaeology and minor in Dance (which i already qualify for).
I'm still going to dance, still going to compete, still going to teach and plan on opening a studio. :)
I'm only motivated even more to work my hardest.

Addicted to Mall World...it's true
I thought i would never admit it on my blog, but i am most definitely addicted to the facebook app Mall World. i get pretend monies, and can go shopping, change my outfit a bajillion times a day, create outfits for everyone i want to, and have my own store and earn more monies. :) yay! like a dream come true *sigh*
Some of the worst symptoms of being addicted: the random shouts of "YES! i leveled up!", the amazing ability to forget to cook food and eat it, and worst of all, i would rather watch my Mall World do nothing than pee. seriously?
I'm just sharing this since i am currently awake solely to stock my store on Mall World, using the excuse of waiting for my laundry to be done in order to stay up. pathetic, absolutely pathetic.

Dance Major
so dancing 6 hours a day isn't as bad as i thought it would be.... well other than the knots that keep forming in my calves and the exhaustion that hits after 8pm every night. but i sleep really well and i feel great!! you would think that with the massive increase in dance (from 5 hours a week to 25 hours a week) that i would be losing weight... but i'm not. if anything i am gaining weight! my appetite has increased significantly but i am starting to figure out what each craving means-like protein, fats, etc.
i would also like to announce that today i performed my first pirouette from fifth position!!!! yay! i have tried and tried and none of my other teachers could get me to do one.. then today my teacher sprung it on us and i did it!! at least five times :) yay! granted i am not landing them properly yet because it is so much easier to land a pirouette from fourth than one from fifth...but anyway i'm just super excited!!
so fulltime school is really busy, constant homework so my book is kind of on pause until i have a free moment...even my lunches and mornings are filled with homework, dinner, late nights-everything! i guess i am learning a lesson on taking 7 classes in a super short "semester" and having three of them be heavy on the homework end of things....speaking of which. i better get back to studying. next week is midterms-ALREADY!! it is passing so ridiculously fast!!
until next time!

The Hunger Games
Shiloe and i ordered our own copies of the hunger games and catching fire a week or two ago, and they came yesterday! yay! :) he was so surprised when he came home from work. :) i'm so glad that we are able to own some books that we both love and would read again and again.
my current project is dejunking our books. which sounds bad but like there are books that i got from the book fairs in elementary school that were great then but i am ok with donating them now and only keeping the books that i would read again and would like our kids to read. in the future.
so far so good! i feel so organized! (well at least in a small section of our family room haha

ballet class, new teacher and new class....i'm so sore!
since i have already taken my byu class before i have the muscle memory for like everything we do in there already. so one of my new years resolutions this year was to join a dance studio (although i doubt they let the adult classes perform because of our age) but anyway. i finally did that and i planned to attend last week except that i had a bad stomach flu. so i went this week and i am so sore!!!! the teacher does some the same but a lot more that i have never done before so my muscles that weren't being used are aching. i also was able to do chaines turns across the floor twice and stay in a straight line and spot and everything! she even shouted out to me that i was doing it !!! yay! i feel like i have succeeded at something. i also learned some knew steps and french terms. :) anyway i am going to enjoy it! i just need to practice so i feel confident and am not afraid to participate.

resolutions, goals, ballet class
so before i get into the good stuff, shiloe no longer is receiving his horrible histories books-as mentioned previously his order was canceled by the dealer.... so great. but he is still going to be getting his photography and Shakespeare books! they should be delivered any day now :) yay! and the people finally refunded the 80 dollars for the books that they canceled. so that is a plus.
and it turns out that the car dealership only has us down as being charged once and the bank has us down as being charged twice so the dealership can't fix it unless the bank calls them. i will tackle this tomorrow.....
so i am currently in ballet at BYU two classes a week, and am going to ballet club on saturdays for extra practice and learning. and i finally got the guts to register for an actual studio. the Academy of Ballet which is run by my current byu teacher Lynne Thompson. she is so amazing! i trust that the faculty and curriculum at her studio match her awesomeness. :) i will write a report on my first class sometime next week. class is supposedly tuesdays so yeah.
ok so my goals and new years resolutions: be on pointe or very close by the end of the year, write a complete teen fiction fairytale rewrite by the end of the year (1+ chapters now finished). I personally feel that i am tackling these fairly well considering how hard it is for me to write longer than a short story, and how shy i am when it comes to dance when i'm not performing. so by taking ballet from three different sources and practicing outside of class, reading my textbook which talks about technique, conditioning, history, etc, and exposing myself to attending various performances to become more familiar i think i will be able to adequately prepare myself for what lies ahead. i have also decided on a dance major. i have to audition but that would not be until next october from what i can gather. so until then i do my best to gain as much experience as possible in different styles of dance and decide what my focus will be (ballroom, ballet, folk, modern)....i've registered for classes SP/SU all of which are dance major related. i do get nervous and scared sometimes but i just have to step back from it all emotionally and relax, have some fun. i learn easier that way.
as far as writing goes, i am working on my book whenever i have the time/energy and the inspiration. i'm finding that shiloe's book and my book are at the same point in progress but he writes a paragraph a day and i don't... i end up having a few days of pondering, proofreading and "thinking"/researching then i have this spurt of inspiration that comes in about 2 pages. so even though our style of approaching our goals is different they are both on track and are looking hopeful.
i have recently turned a partial chapter over to my english major friend for the ultimate review. she has been proofreading my stuff since we met, and she knows my difficulties and...not difficulties? lol anyway if she passes it the project continues and i seek more peer reviews including my amazing elder sister. if she doesn't pass it as having enough potential or interest then i either A-get a new hobbie, B-come up with a new story and try again. so the moment of truth approaches.
